I am headed to WI next Fri. and then on Haydays the following week. Will have a F350 and 24' enclosed. Anyone need anything delivered? Let me know. Mark 720-357-3541 or Lodge # 970-856 6240

Grand Mesa Lodges

When I called the lodge last week they didn't have an idea yet on rebuilding or even if they would. For sure they won't have a restaurant this winter and there seemed to be some uncertainty on whether or not they will do cabin rentals this winter. All that ground around there is US Forest Service property that is being leased and we all know or should know how the current administration feels about commercial uses of their property. I used to think that federal land belonged to the public but that's naive.

I heard Alexander Lodge just down the trail is for sale again and doesn't or won't have a current operator for this winter.

On the other hand, Vega Lakes Lodge and Electric Mountain Lodge are both in full swing and going strong. I was at Electric this weekend and they have added on even more. We have a corporate trip booked at Vega in September. (I was wanting to book the corporate trip with Mark, hence the call last week)

And of course Mesa Lakes Lodge is open and ran by the previous Alexander Lake Lodge leesee Andy and I am told serving food. Grand Mesa Lodge is also open and going strong.

Hey good! When we talked to Andy last winter he said he was working on that deal. Hopefully he can figure out a way for snowmobilers to get there from the top. I've never tried it but I understand there is a trail down to Mesa Lakes Lodge but it has a nasty switchback in it which pretty much prevented a lot of riders from trying it.

Too bad Grand Mesa Lodge doesn't have a restaurant. They seem to be the most stable lodge up there. (probably a result of not having a restaurant LOL! - No massive cash drain)
