Colorado Questions??

I just took a job in Denver in the Cherry Creek Area. I grew up in Fort Collins so I know a little bit about the area but I haven't lived there in the last 10 years. I have a couple questions.

Where is a good place to dirt bike? Something that has intermediate and advanced trails and is relatively close to the south side of Denver. I saw a few places on the internet but it was hard to tell what type of riding was there.

Any ideas on a good place to start looking for houses? I remember that some areas are a little rough but I think a lot has changed since I was last there. We are probably looking to rent for 6 months or a year until we find a house to buy. I'd love to find something around $1500 or less if that's possible. Craigslist seems to be a crap shoot for anything decent and the Denver Post web classifieds only have a few listings, I'm guessing there are more in the print edition?? I'm coming down there the first week of June to find a place but would like to figure out a good starting place. I don't mind a 30 minute or so drive to work so is the Parker area the best place to start? Thanks in advance for the help.

craigslist is going to be your best place to find a rental from a private owner. If you want to live live in the big apartment complex's than you just need to drop in or call them.

Just to give you an idea i rented this place out for $2,200 per month... www.5916scrocker.com . It's in one of the better suburb areas.

Just try to keep you commute off of i25 around denver and you should be GTG.

housing is stupid expensive here as I've recently found out, at least if you work downtown. Don't know about cherry creek, but PM me if you wanna go dirt biking some time, I've been doing 717 latley.

Cherry Creek is a wealthy district. You will pay out the arse for rent. Look for something in Lakewood, Littleton (old town) or Wheatridge. Those areas are older, cheaper and the commute isn't that bad. Don't live there anymore, I moved to the mountains. But when I did live there rent was stupid high as Dogmeat said. I can't imagine it being cheaper now.

Rampart is loaded with people on the weekends, mostly on quads. I believe the dirtbikers call them quadtards for a reason. 717 is pretty cool, no single track. It's all wide enough for quads but not loaded with them. Pretty technical place but not a 1/2 hour drive from Denver. I don't ride that side of the State anymore either. There are plenty of kickas$ trails up here without the crowds. Good luck in your ventures and give Doggy a call. Great guy, get him drunk sometime and ask him about string theory. Good for a few hours of laughs. ;)
