GM and owner need to have heads examined. The 1 year deal for Duchene was spit in his face and he will leave Colorado next year I suspect. But here is the concern. Division rival Minnesota Wild just landed the 2 very biggest free agents in Suter and Parise and sold 700 new season tickets on Day 1 by the way.

Avalanche must do something for Bobby Ryan, Shane Doan, or Alexander Semin. Also out there are the Columbus Blue Jackets who are desparately trying to trade superstar Rick Nash. Avalanche missed the boat on Jagre as he got picked up by the Dallas Stars.......he's a dinosaur but still can score and, I believe, they may have missed the boat on Dustin Penner who I believe just signed a 1 Yr. deal to stay on with the Kings. Stahl also just went to the Hurricanes from the Penguins on a trade

I still havent gotten over the fact that they have NOTHING to show for the Craig Anderson trade to Ottawa.

Bottom line is they MUST do something the counter the moves of Division rival MN or you are starring another season of no playoffs right in the face. GM and owner simply need to be more active.....its just that simple.

Also not sure about the coach. I like 90% of him but his forwards dont understand defense when the other team is on that attack from the neutral zone and in. With most games in the NHL decided by 1 goal this is a BIG DEAL.

Here's what I would do. I would offer Duchene AND Heyduk or Stastny AND Heyduk or Mueller AND Heyduk to Columbus for Nash and sign all 3 Free Agents in Ryan, Doan and Semin.

GO AVALANCHE!!

1 correction. It looks like Bobby Ryan actually is not a UFA from Anahiem.

I think the reason team are gunshy on Semin is that his cap hit is HUGE. and there is talk he may head back to play pro hockey in Russia which can be a much better deal financially than the NHL. Here what i think. i think Edmonton is going to sign Semin pair him up with thier #1 draft choice whihc is the young russian kid.

With regard to the 4 yr $16M contract for PA Parenteau...you gotta be kidding me!! Possibly the most overpaid UFA signing of all time!! i believe this makes him the 2nd or 3rd highest paid player on the team.....crazy and stupid. Here's my prediction. Duschene to Minnesota next year.

A good season to be in the State of Hockey!!!! So long as they pan out.

St. Louis just inked two nice players. One is TJ Oshie to a 5 year deal. This kid is a serious player right out of US college hockey. The other is veteran Jaimie Langenbrunner who was with St Louis this past year after being with Dallas for many years. Although approaching the end of his career he is a terrific player.

Come on Avalanche....do something here please!

Back to Mueller. Avs should have signed him and traded him. When a player signs with another team you end up with absolutley NOTHING to show for him. If you sign him with the intent of trading him at least you end up with something to show for him. Avs could have signed him and used him as trade bait to Columbus for Nash or to Anaheim for Ryan. Missed opportunity.

Hey it could be worse.... try be an Oilers fan; we have owned the basement 3 straight years! Hopefully this is the year to climb out of it. Still kinda stunned Justin Schultz signed here...

Good to see there are some hockey fans on here by the way! :)

Rick Nash to the New York Rangers as of yesterday.

Must sign Doan. The Avalanche havent had a player like Doan since Ian Lapierrere.

First line would be Doan, O'Rielly and McGinn.

Doan resigns with Phoenix last week. Best thing that could happen to the Avalanche this year is the strike continuing.

you won the cup ten years ago, be happy! now the avalanche is on the end of it's slide, it's hit the bottom of the mountain and is slowly fading away...what's that is that the ghost of joe sakic and peter foreskin coming out of retirement to save the franchise, ahh nope.

go flyers!

Flyers should have a strong team if the NHL gets going this year. They are a great organization loaded with history.

Who should come out of retirement is Avalanche Management.
