my buddys apex did not!
mine head shim pump gas.. his no head shim 30% race gas

duramax fired right up

6.0l international fired up after 30 min of crank'n using the isuzu as a jumper.
then sounded like a coffee can full marbles rolling down a hill!....lol

At that temp....throw another log on the fire....have another cup of coffee and baileys and relax:wine: Dino

yes mine last year would start at that minus 30-35 range.. this year it wont. think i need a new battery. which is better the lightweight one or just the stock?

The coldest I have started my Nytro is -35 F, that is only because there was no way I was going to move it by myself at the time. Not sure what you are going to do with it at -40 below anyway. For what its worth my rmk 900 or any of my old summits would not have started at -40 either.

Had the same thing happen to me couple weeks ago. The temp had gotten down to 25 below and the apex would not start ended up using a dryer ducting and taped it to the exhaust on the diesel ran it under the hood let it run for a hour and it fired up. I have a heated trailer but unfortunately we did not take it this time I ordered one of these. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/p.../5/565/1827/13022/2009/1/2726/0/0/detail.aspx hope this works for when I don't have the big trailer with.

Just a little advice!

Buy yourself a leather suit, you can ride -30 below, snow up to your chest, and wonder why we don't go out in this weather. hmmmmmmmmmmm. Let me think, because by the time you come out of the woodwork, the snow is hard, and not soft. Wake up and smell the flowers. You wana ride deep snow and not go out when the weather doesn't cooperate, then u are in the wrong business. I have been to the mountains, not seeing the person in front of me, having 40 mph winds. Sled length behind mind you, it was the best time, and the deepest snow I had ever seen. COLD, bring on the COLD
