What is a good cold air intake and why is the stock inlet on the left side blocked off? Why not utilize both?

You can just drill that open. Evo probably has the cleanest looking cold air intake. It looks stock when installed but is a little pricey. I personally did my own by using the BD 3" snorkel filter coming up through the hood.
