Coeur D'Alene Hydroplane races Labor day

I am looking for some information on the Hydroplane races in Coeur D'Alene on labor day weekend. More specifically if there is any regulations on watching the races from the water?

That is the site, however we are sure you have wandered around on there already.

We were asked to be an advertising sponsor, so we have most of the details here in our office. This year will be a complete new design, with the likes of Monster Energy, Frontier Communications, Dominos, CDA Casino, NAPA, and Budweiser throwing sponsor money their way. The course is now out in front of Silver Beach, which is to the EAST of the Resort Golf course. Their goal was to get it in an area where the boats could open up and they could set up a log boom like sea-fair for boats to watch. All of the traffic/attendees will be shuttled in by boat or bus, there is no parking on site. The vendors, beer garden, and spectators will all be on Coeur D Alene Lake Dr., which will be closed to car traffic.

To answer your question about the boat, they will 100% charge you to be tied up to the log boom, if there are even any spots left at this tim. They also promised to be strict about rafting up to boats who are on the boom. Basically, if you don't pay you will be several hundred yards from the log boom, which is a ways from the actual racing already due to safety reasons. Yes it is likely you would still be able to see some racing, but you will be a ways back if you are on the water.

Holy crap is it $450 just to tie up to the log boom and another $100 if your boat's over 30 feet?

Thats actually cheap compared to other events…..There are spots on the boom at SeaFair in excess of $50.00/Ft. First time the Unlimited Hydros have been here in 45 years. Should be a fun weekend if we were't packing for HayDays haha.
