coating for handlebars

Has anyone ever powdercoated or done anything else to their handlebars? The reason being that I think it is pointless having hand warmers heat up the steal bar. It would be nice to have a coating on it that would insulate the bars a little better. Just curious. I know that tape doesn't work too well for it.. ha ha.

Or you can use the ski doo insulators from the new XP's....part number 506152360

They are about $3 each

Goes between the heater and the bars.

Never heard of anyone having problems getting a steel bar to get warm? Usually it's the aluminum bars since they disperse heat much quicker.

As for coating, I wouldn't. It would make the bar bigger than 7/8" so getting the bar clamps to fit around it could be an issue..

Just get RSI high powered heaters if the stockers aren't enough. That plus the foam should be more than enough..
