CMX Snowbike

Looking to upgrade by next fall. I am curious why there are rarely any posts on the CMX kits? Fit and finish look second to none. What am i missing?

They are great, well made kits for sure. Just not sure the innovation has kept up. My buddy sold his CMX 129 and is on a riot 3S pro this year. He couldn’t be happier.

Theres really not much to say about them. Not really any problems that don't arrise from rampant abuse and when you do have an issue you call CMX directly and they make it right. End of story. Ive bent a rail, suspension arm. cracked another arm and broke a ski. They are tougher them the other kits but will still break lol. (for reference I've owned them all except the riot, but my buddies have a few) I have a 120 and a 129. The 120 will flat out, no questions asked out perform any 120 kit on the market today. It climbs better, more playful, super efficiant. My stock 350 with a cmx can hold with many 450's and older timbersleds on steep pulls. Newer timbersleds, not so much lol. But 350 with a cmx 120 will out climb a 350 with a aro 129. Tried on lots of different snow conditions. The 129 is great but less playful. Not enough time on it riding with the Riot 3's for a good comparison but I will say its right there with the yeti 129FR. The CMX 129 is easier to pivot turn but the yeti I think could do it if we played with its suspension more. The CMX129 is the deep snow/go anywhere kit. My biggest complaint about CMX is the suspension. Its good but timbersled is better. They put a TON of money into their suspension and it shows. I would like to see a lockout/adjustable shocks and a 3rd strut with a lockout installed on CMX kits.

The CMX kits are about the same weight as a timbersled. (within a few pounds depending on the kit) all aluminum construction, solid spindle that won't taco your forks, counterbalanced belt drive. The ski has all the benefits of the Yeti ski without the dreaded crust and Icing. You can roll a cmx around on the shop floor, in and out of a pickup with a little more effort than a bike. The track rolls really freely. The belt drive is indestructible. Everyone always bawks at the price but what they don't realize is its the out the door price. Other brands list the start price. buy the time you buy all the parts, fit kit, chain, gas can ect your up to or past the CMX cost.

Im not saying its the end all, be all snowbike kit but for 90% of the time its the best for my riding style. I don't need a 129 or the weight/drag of a 3" paddle and Im not a fan of composites in cold weather.

Side note, Another reason I ride CMX is the kits are fully updatable. They keep the same frame so whatever upgrades that come out each year can be added to an older kit. I have a 17 that is almost up to 2021 specs. Kind of handy
