Clutching question

Ok so maybe another stupid question on my part but I have always just ridden stock sleds...

So I want to put a pipe on my new 600 but SLP says clutching is REQUIRED. Why do I HAVE to reclutch it when I put a pipe on it and what will happen if I dont? Thanks

Because the pipe changes the power output of the motor and you get the power to the track via clutching. If you were to put a pipe on and it not require any clutching then you could infer that the power didn't change and you'd be throwing money away for no gain (maybe some weight loss, but there are better ways to do that then spend money on a pipe).

If you don't reclutch it you could very well end up with a worse performing sled than what stock was.

Get the new power addiction head and a carls clutch kit. 625.00 for the head and clutching. I installed the 13.6 PA head with carls clutch kit and can't wait to get the thing out. The biggest thing with the head is much improved bottom end and midrange while the pipe is mostly topend and only 7hp at that. I am betting you will see close to 10hp midrange with the head and 5hp on top with no fuel box. I would chose the head over the pipe anyday.

I want to do the head and pipe. I can get the pipe/can & SLP clutching for dealer cost but I dont really want to run the SLP clutching..

Do you guys think I would be better off to do the head, clutching and then just running a can on it? I know the can doesnt do anything for the power but I like the way they sound.
