Clutching question...

Ok so my 04 has the new quiet pipe and I am having some bogging issues in the deep stuff.

I have rejetted to 06 stock 15pilot 400 main. Seems to start up and run fine.

I have a stock 50 helix with beige spring, stock primary.. I have adjusted the secondary to stiffest setting and it seems to have improved the situation.

The only difference I can see with my setup and the newer 06 is the secondary helix, the newer stock one is a variable 50 44. Do you think thats my problem?

Do I buy the newer helix, does the variable 50 44 really make that much difference. In theory it seems like that is exactly what I need.

Do I get a stiffer spring and keep the same helix?

Do I buy a new Beige spring since it may be worn out?

When do I consider changing the main or lowering the needle?

Any help would be appreciated ..
Thanks
TonyC

What elevation are you riding ? On our stock 600 with air pods we run a 270 main and a 17.5 pilot at 4-9000 ft elevation ( thats with jaws pipe ) im guessing you may run a lil richer , one maybe two jet sizes with that quite pipe . With all that new restriction and that fat of jetting its more likely you have so much raw fuel in the pipe when wide open that your creating a very rich scenario . I would definatly look at leaning down before spending the money on another helix

I have air pods and V-force reeds and I ride at 500-3000 ft..

Mine with the jaws pipe was setup up with 17.5 and 350.. Maybe I will throw in the 350 see how that runs.

i would think that even at that you could still be rich but its a good start , getter warmed up and do a full throttle pull and check the plugs , i think most of the specs they give you in the book are fairly conservative to be safe
