Well i have searched but not found an answer. My 09 M8 is basically stock motor wise other then a can, Its clutched with the factory specs for 0 - 3000 feet (77g w/ 44/40) and pulls 8-8100rpm no problem. I added a shift assist and rock rollers and my rpms dropped down to about 7650 - 7750. I dropped down to 75g's and can just barely see 8000 now which is still a little lower then i'd like.

Is everyone seeing a 3 to 400 rpm drop with just a shift assist installed?
Any other suggestions for my clutching or should i just drop more primary weight?
Thanks
B

8000 is to much for a stock 2009 M8, that 7650 - 7750 is close to the peak if I remember right

Yes on average you will see 200 rpm loss with the shift asssit. This loss is because the spring is not hanging the shift now and is up shifting more now loading the motor more.

The 036 belt is loose 200 rpms more then the 044 and the 044 is 200 more than the polaris IQ belt 1104. So let say your running an 044 you can go to the 036 and get back the rpm's you lost.

IF you have the 10.4" secondary the 060 is 200 lower then the 046. If by chance your running the 060 you can drop on the 046 and be back to where you were.

Don.
