Clutching & Pipe or NOS on 05 900?

I have a strong running stock 05 900 and I am now looking to add some performance for long pulls. I have been very happy with the performance of this sled right out of the box. I have had several chances to run this sled against other 9's (05 and 06) and this thing has been untouchable. Now I am starting to get out run by my friends newer xp 800's and would like a performance upgrade. Should I go with a slp pipe and clutching or just go the nitrous route?

Start with the pipe and clutching! If you still have stock clutching then a little work will wake it right up, I wouldn't judge it off of other possibly poorly clutched sleds(not trying to say anything bad) I just did this on mine this season and I can't seem to keep my handle bars from moving back! It makes it fun all over again.

If you are found wanting after that then do some funny gas.

Ditto...^^

start with a pipe and clutch it perfect...gears as well..

drop a few pounds off it here and there...vent it...

THEN...Demolish!! :eek::beer;

x4 on the clutching, made my 900 a whole new machine still running stock pipe. Ask around, these guys know their chit with the 900 clutching, got mine bang on first try using their advice.

What are you running on the sled with stock pipe for clutching and gears? I ride 6000-9000ft. I am a firm believer in finding the right clutching for optimum performance. I am a bit hesitant on buying the SLP pipe, because in the past, I felt that putting aftermarket pipes on a sled didn't improve it as much as clutching. I live in Michigan and ride in WYO, so it limits me on testing different setups. Any feedback would be appreciated.
