90 Phazer II runs good on hard pack slight midrange bog- in deeper powder run good for a little while then RPMS drop and can't climb over 5000 until I get back on a track- is this a carb issue or a clutching problem? runs pretty good until it is under a heavy load.

What elevation are you running at? It sounds like you may need to change weights or springs. Is the sled in stock form? These sleds always performed well.

[ok you need to check the carbs, and by that i mean,..where you adjust the idle there is a big plastic nob, under neath that there is a timing adjustment thing, unplug that stupid thing and route the wires from the stator to it, into themselves so that it makes a loop back to the stator, these wires are black strip on yellow. i do this with everyone i get, your problem will be solved, also if your mechanically inclined, take out the fuel pump and rebuild it, also a common issue when regarding high rpms

On Phazer-I/II
Where you adjust the idle there is a big plastic nob,
under neath that there is a timing adjustment thing,
unplug that stupid thing and route the wires from the stator to it,
into themselves so that it makes a loop back to the stator,
these wires are black strip on yellow.
I do this with everyone I get, your problem will be solved.
Never heard of this
Must check it on daughter's Phazer-II ( 1991 )
