Clutching OnThe Ctec 2

Hey guys , what’s everybody doing for clutching ? Talking to my dealer and ordering parts and was unsure to go with clutching or not? Any insight would be awesome ! Only power mod is gonna be a can and mostly ride deep bc snow . Thanks!

In my experience with sleds and stock clutching/playing around. I wouldn't touch the alpha/ctec2 clutching, it's great and will cost a lot to gain very little.

Belt life is great and maximum track speed, tops out quick on the trail but she's a mountain sled after all.

I compared mine to a xm, both the ~163 track, 2.5 on the xm VS 3 inch on alpha, pulled the same track speed.... Within 1-2km/hr. Amazing, a lot more bite on the 3 inch but yet pulling stronger, And the flickability in the throttle for so much track...

I have found a multi angle helix and new spring with an adjustable weigth to be very effective. The straight 48 is ok, but too much angle for the sled to pull 7-8000' in elevation. The secondary spring is also too stiff initially (180/240). i have found a lighter spring to be very beneficial. The stock weights are also a bit tip heavy. I have a full clutch kit if your interested.

Cheers,

The stock clutching is great. The only thing I changed on mine was going to Dalton 45 or 46deg helixes for riding above 10K ft

Is that what you guys are running on niners alpha build? Now im on the fence as the stock clutching seems to be awesome from what ive heard. Know your setup works well. What are you asking for the clutch kit ? Whats all in it ?

Yes Niner sled rips. It has a multi-angle helix, different primary and secondary spring with magnet adjustable weights. Cost is $495 CAD. Feel free to call me at 780-619-6884

Any stock clutching can be improved ! All our kits come with the money back guarantee . Cat Polaris or Ski doo.

Since 09 I have ran MDS clutching. I had issues with one of my 2015 mountain sleds and he took numerous calls helping me figure it out and it was an issue with primary that came from the factory. He has always been able to help dial sleds in better than stock. My son started at 100lbs on his 15 and ended last year on 15 at 145. Steve continued to help with clutching over the years. I will be adding MDS to my 2020 hardcore.
