Clutching for a 2005 M7

Hello

I was wondering what is the best clutch setup for this sled? As of right now it has stock clutching and when climbing it is only at about 7200 rpm. I ride between 6-9000 ft. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My favorite (opinions will vary), AC gold spring for low engagement, AC weights for altitude, 36 or 38 deg. helix and AC orange spring with shift assist in secondary.

Temporary fix for the white spring is to screw in the adjuster 1/2" to 3/4" from outer face (the adjuster is the BIG white plastic ring inside the helix, not the small beige one outside).

By stock clutching I assume you mean 68 gram weights? You should be able to easily pull 7600-8000 with 68 gram weights. You may have something else wrong.

Nothing too much wrong with stock clutching in my book. Just have to get the deflection set right, then adjust the secondary adjuster in .5 from the outer face of the cover. Any more than this (may) cause spring binding issues.

What weights are in your primary? I run 65 grams with the stock springs, and I pull 7960-8040 rpms at WOT. Before my deflection and adjuster were set right I could only manage 7600 or so.

Also check your power valves and make sure they are working properly; they should open and stay open at about 6800, but if they are sticking you can usually still manage up to 7200 rpms but you'll run like crap.

Hope this helps.
