clutching da' PRO

Hopefully, this thread will answer a few questions for mtn riders to flatlanders that travel to and fro.

what's your sled, track length, track type, what's your gears, or motor mods?

And most importantly, riding elevation and type. If ya prefer, boondocking the tight trees in handlebar deep pow at 10k, say so! If ya only, race up hills on spring snow, let us know!

For many of us, the '11 pro was pretty spot on...but for some it lacked 300-450-rpm on top, and could be a little slouchy at engagement. I would like to hear your opinion!:fish2:
Rumor is my goal rpm is 8250, my sled ave 7850. '11 assault stock setup, stock gears, 600mi on original belt.

1st one to post up the polaris spring chart will get unlimited PBRs at TML!!

:peace: out

Is this what you are looking for?

Is the Search button broke?

There are 9 pages of thread titles with the word "clutching" in them in the Pro-Ride site. I bet you will find flatland and elevation clutching and gearing stuff in them. Sorry, someone has to play the "Search" nazi, I'll play the part for this thread as I have too many rep points. :face-icon-small-hap

"clutching" + "AKSNOWRIDER"

Both FBomb and RKT have clutching combinations they like and Carl's is also a favorite for those that don't have time to iterate on the hill.

Now, to get MH to make a clutching sticky and searches will become obselete...

I tried a few setups..... so far best performance has been all stock with just belly buster or slp mtx weights...tried my dragon setup(carls helix, 42/62/.46 with black/purple sec spring, slp green/pink primary and 68 gram mtx's and while it worked great, it left the clutches and belt hotter then I like...(on the dragons this setup was excellent with almost no heat)..didnt have time this season to really dial the setup..will work on it this winter.........so far I am thinking a little more inital angle, a little less finish and then play with the spring to get the back shift right...then go to the primary and play with the spring to bring the rpm's in line...thats my aim for next season....

oh yeah, one thing you really have to watch on the pro..its easy to hit the rev limiter both at full rpm but also at 1/2 throttle if you get to much spring or too light of weights..it will show up as a bog(really bad bog too) and if bad enough will set a deto light and go to limp mode...mine pulled harder and harder right up to 8300..then it starts getting into the rev limiter if you unload the track in any way..if you can keep it right at 8300...it rocks pretty good....I found using the record feature helpful..but even it cant keep up when you get it real revy...if you get any kind of bog...add weight back and see if that solves it..even if the record never shows over 8200 rpm....
