Clutches, balancing and warranty

Just wondering everyone elses thoughts on this. Planning on getting the primary balanced etc.

Just thought tho, with this years clutch failures, I'd sure hate for a spun crank to be denied due to clutch balancing. If a failure should occur... I know the numbers were low, and even lower with crank issues due to it.

Is the balancing done by say Indydan or carls "visual"... You guys know where I'm goin with this.

Thoughts...

The typical balancing job is done very much like the factory does it... drilling the face or sheeve edge. So it wouldn't be 'noticeable' on inspection. But Carl's is doing some machining as well and that might be noticeable.

But... If a claims adjuster wants to get finicky with you on it... yes, they could deny a warranty claim because of it.

The standard answer of "It's up to your dealer" just doesn't hold water any more... not like it used to even 3 years ago. And this goes for Best dealers out there that Polaris loves. Cutting the face of the clutch sheave is easily noticed.

In the end, a quality balance job can only help keep your sled running well and with as little vibration as possible. PLUS... clutches are generally not warrantied.

A broken crank is something that would get checked out closely and if the clutch was thought to be the cause because of some mod... then yes, you could be on the hook for that. A newer clutch should not need to be cut.
