clutch setup sea level

I looking for a good setup for my 2012 pro 800 155. My rpm surge to 8250 but stay around 7900 in powder with the stock 68 weights.

I'll probably buy mtx 68g adjustable weights but i'd like some input on the primary spring.

thanks

You'll probably have to go to the heavier MTX's. We run the 68 base weight with heavy tip+mid weight (73g total) at 3-6000ft. I suspect the 68's will be too light at sea level unless you run a lot of helix or a soft primary spring.

I disliked the mds weigh set up for sea level. Felt like it was always engine deceling on me. My preferred set up is mtx 71g with team lime green with 2g at the heel. Sec. stock with a derlin or two. This is for a 200lb rider. Add or subtract weight for your weight. Use the eth. switch to control rpm on hard pack, then when you get to the powder, switch to the non eth mode to gain a couple hundred rpm.

I live in Northern Ontario, and i went with Carl's clutch kit for MY13 RMK Assault. It made a HUGE diff. in how the sled runs across the whole rpm range. I would recommend it to anyone. I am only at around 900'-1100' elevation.

You could also look at A2D (Chad) 1-907-306-3062 for clutch kit,his shop is in Alaska so sea. I know he use mtx weight, different helix, and springs.

I have Chad's clutch kit in my '12 163. Backshift and mid-range snap are awesome.

I'm running 71 gram MTX weights with Chad's custom helix and a Team green spring. It pulls and pulls.

I run the factory springs and 68 weights at 1000 ft, and it's right on. 14 Pro 800 155
