Clutch set up for 02 700RMK in the snowies?

We will be making our fisrt trip to the snowies in January. We have an 02 700RMK 144x2 going, and I was wondering about clutch set ups. The manual says 10-AL weights (53 gram) black/green primary spring, silver/blue secondary spring, and R8 helix. I have a set of 10-54's for it, will it pull this weight at 10,000-11,000 feet? He is not looking to spend a ton of money though.

Thanks guys.

Here is Spanker's answer to my question about clutching in the other thread:

"I run a polaris black w/ pink stripe in the primary, with 58g weights and a slp yellow w/ purple in the secondary w/ the factory R8 helix. That is with a SLP single pipe. What do you have for gearing? I have 19-39 w stock drivers. That setup seems to work pretty good for the Snowy Range area."

i am also headed to the snowies but im goin on Dec. 8th. my system isnt all stock and i am running an SLP.

I have a yellow (what i believe is Polaris brand) primary, stock secondary, stock helix and probably try runnin my 58 g weights since thats the closest to 54 i have from the previous owner whom rode the mtns often.

i cant say that this set up will work so if anyone sees any problems PLEASE let me know. :face-icon-small-hap

10-56 weights with a stock 02 700 RMK 144 and 19-39 gearing will pull 7950 RPM at 10,700 feet. 10-54 will pull 8250 RPM.

I agree with the weights Leardriver. I would think 300 jets would be better but I do know the 02's may have larger needles and I run 290's in my 04 700 my 04 700 in the snowies.(all stock) either way be sure to put the needle in the #1 position and get some really light exhaust valve springs. I believe I am running a yellow colored exhaust spring.

The 02 that I mentioned runs 300 mains with the leaner 02 needles on the 2 clip, and has a nice rich chocolate plug after a plug chop, so you could definitely run 290 or even leaner.
