Clutch removal tools

So, I am looking at getting a DJ clutch kit for my 07 summit x. What clutch removal tools do I need and where can I buy them. Are the ski-doo tools worth the money or is there a better deal out there that includes everything?

I just picked mine up through SLP. Credit Card over the phone and at my door in 2 days.
Clutch puller and button retainer clips. 55 bucks- got my primary spring at the same time. made a spring compressor out of 1/2" x 12" all thread with some 2" fender washers.
same recipe from other threads on here. Mine is an 05 but SLP should have the tools for an 07 as well if there is any difference.
Just went through mine last night.

I wouldn't spend any money on Skidoos Clutch Puller. Everytime I went to remove my clutch, I had to go get a new puller from the Dealer.

The Skidoo puller is soft and would start to corkscrew at the tip where it pushes against the crankshaft. When you start with a new puller the part # is straight inline with the axis of the puller. After you use it, the same # wouldn't be in a straight line anymore.

After buying the aftermarket puller, removing the clutch was easier, taking way less torque to break it free from the crank. It used to take up to 120 ft-lbs to remove it. It was especially harder when Skidoo increased the bolt torque up to 89 ft-lbs, about halfway into the 07 season.

FYI...If you haven't pulled the clutch, or if it hasn't been pulled in a while. Use a torch to heat up the center of the primary in between the sheves, This will expand the metal and make it easier to pop off.

Expensive or not, those are great tools. I've got the same one's and they make it so much easier to remove the clutches.

I couldn't get my primary off, and did some searching on the fourms. One said to take the clutch bolt out, fill the end of the crank shaft with grease then use the clutch puller. Hydraulic action. Worked great. Some people were getting them off with just the clutch bolt.

Just my .02
