clutch nut wear

Hey there I got this strange wear on my clutch nut. It appears to from the spring rubbing on it. 2014 pro rmk 800. Is there a fix for this? Also anybody notice how the stock decals come off real easy. On a side note I love my pro rmk!

Yup it's a common issue. Pull the spring out and file down the edges.

Change the spring.

The poo springs in the last few years have been hit and miss from what I've seen. The ends of mine didn't taper off to form a flat surface for the spring. They just kind of quit, which put the spring on an angled bind, hence rubbing spider nut.

Aftermarket primary spring manufacturers seem to have better luck when hitting the precision marks as far as I'm concerned.

So take the spring out see if its perfectly vertical. And if not buy an slp spring?

Yup.

The stock spring will not be a nice, tapered, "vertical" surface if your nut looks like that.

Feel the end of the spring on either end, I have noticed many of the springs have a very sharp edge and dig into the cover or the spider. If the dig into either the spring will bind up...
