I'm looking to find out who makes the best clutch kits for friend of mine. He has an 08 XP 800 X. Right now he has the 09 set up in it, but want's more. He was looking at the Dynamo Joe kit. Any thoughts on it? Or any other kits you would recommend for him? Lives at about 1000'-2000', rides at 4000'-8000' a few times a year.

Thanks.

I have an 09 154 Xp and I have a Rooster Built clutch kit and I love it. I ran my stock gear till saturday when I re-geared from a 21 t to a 19 t and it makes a huge difference. I love the performance of the kit and I would highly recomend buying this kit.

We do installs, or can help guide a customer through the install if they have the tools. Most any dealer or sled shop should be able to do it also. Looking at 1-2 hours of shop time.

Ok thanks, I will let him know. He was hearing good things about the DJ kit on doo talk, but asked me to find out if there was any thing better out there. What does the rooster kit consist of?

For 08 with 2009 441 ramps at the elevations you mention then my simple Dual Elevation Kit

2 primary springs / helix / pin kit.
For 0~3000 then the Low ele gr/pk primary w/20.5g in clicker 4.
To go higher than 3000, then high ele pl/ph primary with 15.9g in clicker 4 up to 8000. Higher than 8000, then 14.9g

Stock 377 belt
Stock gearing or lower if you like.
Will handle right down to 19:49 with little flyweight change.
Fun thing about the 441 ramps you usually don't have to clicker around from road to snow. Just drop in and drive with either going up or down 1/2 gram on the pinweight for your personal applcation.

$295 + $25 ship (in Canada add gst)
Today exchange would be $230 USD for kit.

Can fill out this Secure Form. Tells me everything about your sled I need to know. Comments box below if you have any questions for me to answer.
I try to get back asap, difficult to get me on the phone as it rings off the hook but I try to get back to everyone.

If have any calibration questions then can go on my Clutch Kit Forum

Supertorquers NEW Heelclicker Center Roller hands down dominates the mountains test after test after test.

Focusing on the TRA primary is where you need to spend your $$.

here is my spin on this deal . my sons sled is a 04 x with a 827 rkt and dj s kit in the clutches and it works great.my sled 09 163 x bone stock.side by side race his kicked my butt off the line and up the hill ,deep powder or steep and deep mine floats a lot better so it got the nod .until i put the heelclicker cra kit in the 09 ,now i am right on his *** and when the snow gets deep it really shines. be prepared to pull the primary a few times took me about 4 tries and a few phone calls and some info off this forum to get it right. still think there might be a little more yet ,need a 3 gram bolt .good luck

kits

Heres my 2cents..........1 if yer canadian............I checked into them all........both Roosterbuilt and DJ have good kits from replies I read............DYNAMOEJOE prob has more out there..Cudney sells one also................The differnces from Rooster and DJ will be different primary spring rates, different pin weights and a different helix, not sure what Rooster uses but DJ has DALTON cut a specific one just for him(QR11)...........tossup huh?................well my decision was a DJ kit..................#1, he has a website with a ton of info and youll tell very knowledgable with the tra..........#2, if your in the U.S. you cant beat the exchange rate now(cheaper).....#3, i talked with Joey quite a bit about clutching on the phone before I even bought his kit, sometimes he is hard to get ahold of but he has ALWAYS returned a call and will answer all questions............If you want to go deeper into it find out the differences between the primary spring rate and helixes and what you need........good luck

I have DJ's kit in our 08' 154. Much better than the stock 08 kit. I have the Roosterbuilt kit in my 09' 163. Also much better than stock. Personally I perfer the Roosterbuilt. More track speed in the deep. I lost top end speed, but it pulls along hard in continous deep snow. 4-8000'
