so i have a 2012 mtx 162 with a mpi stage 1 supercharger. i finally am about done with the install so i am looking for help on the clutch set up. i have not educated myself that much on clutching, so any help on what to do to mine would be greatly appreciated.

i will be out around lake tahoe at approx 7000-8000 feet. i am wondering what weights, springs, rivets etc i need to install or do i need to purchase someones "kit" to make it perform the way it should. any reccomendations on vendors?

thanks for the advice

I installed same kit. I took my clutch to my local yamaha dealer. They put a stiffer spring and added weights. Works great.

Hartman is a good guy but is very old school. He doesnt use e-mail, Wont take credit cards, etc...

He is going to want to sell you all new clutching for primary and secondary.

Let me just throw another idea out there for you. 4-strokes are very easy to clutch, Super charged 4-strokes are even easier! You stock clutching compoents will work fine. All you need to do is remove the weights and install 4.5g rivets in all 3 holes.

This will be very close, you mights have to add slightly more weight but start there first. Eric

Tom is defiantly old school, but he does take credit cards?.... He will most likely want you to switch to 8dn weights. Which most will agree is a much better profile weight than the stock Weights. Especially for a stage 1 setup. And he will probably want you to use a multi angle helix. But like srx said if you just load up you stock weights and run a stiffer secondary spring, you'll be close. But there will be a lot left on the table.

My advise is to call Tom and talk to him. He's a snowmobiler and is always more than happy to talk about yamahas....
