clutch engaging too low?

i have a 97 polaris super sport 488 and it seems that the clutch engages at way too low rpms, it usually engages around 3600 rpms, i would like to have it engage around 400 or 4200, it there anyway to change this without buying anything? or do i have to buy a new spring? thanks!

also if i do have to buy a new spring where can i get one? :plane:

Sounds like a spring is in order. Is the top end still good, over-rev, or still good power?

Your dealer should be able to set you up with the correct spring. It is likely sacked out from years of tension being trapped in the clutch so a new one is going to make difference.

it seems to torque out often at bottom end and only does about 70, rmps get up to around 67-6800, could there be another problem or is this pretty normal for the sled?
