Clutch engagament question

I was working on our sleds this weekend when I happened to notice that my sled engages at 3500 rpm's and the wifes engages at 4000. According to the Doo manual 4000 is about right for our sleds. Can mine be adjusted to engage at 4000 or is 3500 OK? I kind of like it the way it is but don't want to break anything or cause any undue damage to my sled. I'd actually like to reduce the wifes clutch engagment to match mine but if I should keep it close to factory then that's what I'll do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If the clutch is working properly it sounds like you might have a different spring in your primary that is allowing it to engage sooner. I would check that first.
 
Would belt heigth have anything to do with the rpm difference? I think my wifes sled's belt sits a bit lower than mine does.
 
Both are 2008 Summit Adrenalin 600 HO SDI sleds with less than 600 miles on both machines.
 
So are you telling me that the dealership I bought it from set them both up differently? I don't know how else they could be different as I haven't touched the clutches other than to float them.
 
Its possible that one spring came weaker or yes the spring is different on one. No big deal, you wife is just going to take you off the line.
 
belt deflection has very little to doo with engagement--what year sleds ????

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if the belt sits low in the secondary that means there is more belt "slack" for the primary to take up as the sheave come together to grab the belt. Hence requiring slightly more RPMs to engage.
 
I'll be checking a few things on our sleds tonight. I know my wifes belt is adjusted lower than mine so i'll fix that and maybe swap out my belt, though it looks to be in almost new condition. I don't have any clutch tools yet so there's isn't much I can doo about that right now. I was wondering why it seemed that the wifes sled had a little more punch from the start, now I know.
