Interesting day to say the least.....put a used 166 back on my sled instead of the new 377 I had put on. The belt was used but had pulled a cord or two but was cleaned up nice. BLEW IT TO CRAP going up the trail!!!!
Put the 377 on and went up the mountain. Rode in 12-16" of new on top of mashed potatos. Only changes were 2mm+ rollers and messed with alignment. Last time out I rode about 3 miles of mountain on the 377 and could only pull 8000 compared to really steady 8300 on the 166. This time I was pulling 8200 steady on the 377 but it didn't feel as snappy. Clutches did good and rode for another hour or two......Then switched back to a new 166; Belt is so much snappier. Interesting thing is that I didn't gain rpm's.....just stayed at 8300 on same clicker as when I ran the 377. So much snappier!!! Steady RPM's, great track speed.
So, after an auspicious beginning, I rode 50+ miles today on the mountain and both belts look great and clutches got hot but not as hot as before. Here is some pix......
A slide right by Grandy Lake that took out half the campground........
Then a big slide at Beaver Creek right after Tyee................
But in the end....the 4 wheel drive prevails and the sun shone and it was all good above the crust.................
So we went a little higher......................
But I was "all by myself"......................
And eventually others were able to poach track................
And some even hit jumps.............................
All in all, a pretty nice day...............................played over Baker pass, all down to the horse barn, up by the lookout, dropped grade, then popped over Sulphur till the clouds came in around 1pm. XP ran out of gas on the way down.....
