Does anybody know what the Clutch Alignment Offest is for an 11 Pro? Can't seem to find any info on it any where. Thanks in Advance

Tanner

polaris no longer sets up clutches by offset spec..its built right into the clutch alignment tool..the tool to use is the polaris LWT. clutch alignment bar..I think they run about 70-80 bucks thru the dealer..and a great tool to have...

TG, this is what the tool looks like..its a good investment..I check mine often and they do move off alignment sometimes...this tool works way way better then any of the aftermarket ones...get all your pro buddies togeather and split the price and share it...

Does anyone know the Polaris part number for that tool?

TGitt me and Chris can chip in Chris will pay 1/2 because he has 2 Pro's and me and you will chip in 1/4 each...

just tell your dealer you need the LWT clutch alignmnet bar..it has been used on everything since the 900 came out....on the other side of it it actually says LWT in big letters on it..there is an old thread in the dragon section that has this pic.hang on I will get on the dealer page and look it up...

the tool is....

PS-47477 Essential

Tool Name:

CLUTCH ALIGNMENT TOOL (LIGHT WEIGHT TEAM DRIVEN)

Your Price (USD):

$104.20

Application:

Snowmobile

If you look at the tool pictured, you can see why polaris no longer gives an offset of say 5/8. They are measuring from the primary face, to the front side of the team secondary. If you measured from the back of the pri to the back of the sec, you would get a diff measurement, due to the back of sec not being perfectly straight. This is why the dealers were required to buy this tool in 04, when they used the team sec.

Would this tool be appropriate for something like a '98 700 with a team secondary? or a gen 2 big block twin with a team? edge bb?

yep..its the right tool for anything running a team light weight clutch/p-85 combo..some with a super small or large center distance might have issues getting it to fit right..polaris also has these for the older clutches as well..

You will have to notice that Mike is saying the tool he has pictured is the LWT, which is for the 04 series team clutch. If you have the 98 series team roller on an older sled you will need a diff tool. It looks very similar ( part # ps-46998) but will not have LWT stamped on it.

OLD THREAD IN THE DRAGON SECTION...........................?

1- (TOP TOOL) GOLD PLATED GENUINE POLARIS TOOL, "LWT and PART #" engraved on the top tool

2- (BELOW THAT) SLP offset tool for standard roller secondary TSS-98 (and can be used with the lightweight TSS-04 with .100 gap using a stack of feeler gauges)

3- (Above bottom in pic) Old style offset tool for use with button secondary

4- (bottom) Center to center tool from Hi Performance Engineering.

Keep in mind that the POLARIS tool has approx .070" of "kick" built in to them, which may be more than you want, and the SLP tool is parallel (straight)

Check out the "old" link below

RIGHT TOOL FOR THE RIGHT JOB

Type of secondary determines which tool to use

EDGE, DRAGON, PRO have the same 11.5" center to center,

chassis, big block, small block, doesn't matter.

Old style chassis was 12" C/C

Some others, were 12.5'' C/C ('93 Storms)

IF you only want to purchase one tool, and you have different secondaries, numerous sleds.
You can use the same tool (SLP) on both narrow(TSS-04) and wider (TSS-98) secondaries if you use a stack of .100" in feeler gauges on the TSS-04 according to SLP instructions, so the same???? should apply to the POLARIS tool??

Read all 3 threads, great info guys. Time to buy a new guage, just not sure which one would be best, I have a stock '04 700 rmk with a team and a holz custom with a w/c triple with a team. I hate to admit I don't know which version of team is on either one?? The sleds are backing up on the lawn and hopefully soon I'll get to one of my own instead of helping buddys get theirs running.

Pull your secondary off. The TSS-98 with have 8 holes I think and will have a really round helix. TSS-04 (the newest) will have 4 holes and will look pretty square.
