What is good replacement clutch for 06 ram 2500 6 speed w/ 35" tires and moderate tuning. (tow/economy bullydog) Truck has 90K on original clutch and I know I damaged it by f 'in around w/ the tuner on extreme mode. Truck is a daily driver and I dont want a real aggressive clutch like some of the aftermarket options. I would rather not have to replace all the hydraulics either. Should I just get a oem replacement? PS Truck seldom tows over 6500lbs. Suggestions from people w/ expierience would be appreciated.

I had the Con OFE in 01. Worked great and was smooth engagement, even with 35s and 3.55 gears.

Mine held up to 400 hp and some towing perfectly.

I would highly recommend it.

The FE can get grabby from what I hear

Also, with 90k, replacing hydraulics is a good idea. The South Bend hydraulic system is required for their clutches.

Don't go stock, it just isn't going to hold with added power.

They only require the hydraulic upgrade on the G56 tranny which he has, its recommended with the Nv4500 and NV5600 though.

anyways if you wont be racing, boosted launches, etc. go with a Con OFE. im running it right now in mine and its smooth engagement, quiet, holds everything (except my boosted launches haha)

i would go with a southbend or valair. best i found call the company tell them what your running for power, towing and how you drive, they will be able to set you up. in my case 400+rwhp and drive it hard so i went with a large single disc from valair.

Hard to beat a full ceramic single disk for what you do.I wouldn't waste the time with a organic or feramic for what you will tow with it. buy a con ofe or fe and you will be wanting more... especially with a common rail. engagement isn't that rough with a ceramic about the same as a full feramic

A Con OFE will handle everything the Bullydog can throw at it.

If your going to go a larger turbo, injectors and stack, then I would get the FE.

You can go dual disc butt then you give up quicker shifting.

I have driven a Duramax with the ceramic South Bend and that thing is PIA. The OFE in my 01 was a night and day difference.

I didnt notice a difference between my ofe and dual disk 3600 and still have the same stock hydraulics. Unless you go up in power the ofe would probably be alright.
