Clunk?

I heard a clunking underneath my apex everytime I would wheelie or land a jump so I looked underneath the tunnel and saw this.

Any Ideas what caused this and what does it look like I need to fix it?

On my 2006 apex the track would contact that support in the tunnel. I believe they updated that problem in 2007, however there was a recall on that problem for the 06's which included an additional piece to be added to prevent that contact. If there was track damage Yamaha would warranty the track as well. It did damage mine and no problem getting the new track which I still have because I upgraded to the Challenger Extreme.

I recked my track from from the same metal peice so I just cut it out and built my own screen under the turbo, try tightening up your track a bit it might be belowing to much when comeing out of the wheelie its worked for me so far.

goodluck

So does this sled need the recall done?
And do you think there will be anyproblems with yamaha fixing it?
It is a 2006.

There was a warranty update on all 2006 Apex's where the dealer installed a track deflector from the tunnel to the bottom of that exhaust housing basket. Notices were issued by mail and the work performed at the dealer, free of charge.

Being 2 yrs later, im not sure if you'd have a leg to stand on. Contact the dealer with those photos and your VIN #, im sure they can give Yamaha a call and find out for you asap.

Okay.
Thanks for the help.
Is there a website I can visit that will show all the recalls for the 2006 apex mountain?
Just bought it a week ago and Im thinking the previous owner didnt keep track of the recalls.

The parts are avilable at your dealer as well, you need 6 rivits and the aluminum piece that covers the area you are contacting. Look on the frame page on the fiche if I remember correct
