Clunk when engaging

My girlfriends switchback assault has a clonk everytime the clutch grabs.. never heard it on my axys.

Heard that it can be the rollers hitting the ramp in the helix..

But everytime it engages?

Cant see or measure up anything that would cause it?

my pro ride always used to do this even brand new, I rarely hear it on my axys

Your belt is likely worn too narrow. I went through this on a 2010. Try a new belt and most likely noise goes away.

Chain case tension!!

take belt off...

How far can you move the secondary... like the belt would spin it.. then roll it back,, take up the slop by tighen the chain.. but needs a little dont go tight!!

Where gonna do chaintension , but didnt have time, so thats on next time.

To narrow belt sounds fishy since the belt sits at right hight, holds right rpm and no slipping in clutches, havent messured belt so are gonna do that. But still ..

No slipping on splines more then standard, no wearing.

It sounds more of the pto side, but yes a slack chain could extend the sound.

But anyways the sled performs well for the woman and a axys 850 is next go... im just a perfectionist and the sound is eating me up ... happy i dont ride it :whoo:

And sure there are some wear and tear in primary, but none that i can see is under the tolerance.. if not perhaps the rollers are worn and hitting the bolt when the weights come out ?

So many variables and not worth spending so much coin on a sled that will be replaced likely in a year.
