Closest place to Denver to go for a quick ride?

Just want to head up and run the new (to me) sled for a few minutes to make sure that there's nothing that'll need fixing during the off season. Any thoughts on where to go to find some snow for a test ride? Was thinking Jones Pass, but I'd rather not drive all the way up there only to learn that there's more rocks than snow.

Vail pass would be the closest but there are still peeps riding everyday at Rabbit Ears Pass which would be the safest as there is still good coverage. Hard, brown snow but good enough to rip back and forth to scratch your itch.

Vail Pass
Still 50" at the Vail snotel and 30" at Copper snotel, should be somewhere between that at the pass.
I like R/E better due to the larger riding area and lack of over zealous USFS gestapo but V/P is only 15 minutes from my house so it's where I ride alot.I'm hoping for at least another day, look me up if your interested.Haven't been up to the pass in 2 weeks but it was good then.
Pete

Thanx Pete! Free time is kind of at a premium right now in my world, but as soon as I can get away for a bit I'm going to try to head up. Will let ya know. It'd be nice to have someone show me around a little. I plan to do some serious playing up there next winter!
