Why did my post get closed ?

Dont know why it was closed but the most common reason for DET is poor fuel causing detonation.

Could a loose muff pot rattling on the exhaust pipe cause it to go into det code ?

I had a similar problem. No clue man!

Polaris girl...yours was moved to the drive train section and was never closed.
I don't see any of the threads you've started that are closed... did I miss one??

Which one did you have problems with PRO-8250?
I can't find a single thread started by you that was closed either???
