Close Off Foot Panels

I installed these close off foot panels from Mike Taylor. They block snow from getting in the clutch area and still vent as well, as if they were not even on there. Mike cut vents in them just like the aluminum underneath. These let hot air out and keep snow out . They are made out of a textured plastic to look nice and have screen over the vent holes. These can be ordered by PM to Mike Taylor. Great product for fifty dollars and he pays the shipping.

Just messin' with ya Mike :face-icon-small-win Your foot well plate looks pretty nice, good luck with your venture.

Doesn't this block off plate cover the oil fill hole for the chain case? Or, is there a different fill hole? I had my dealer do the 1st service so honestly I'm not sure. I like the design and have had issues with belt squeel after pounding pow so it is a potential issue...for me at least.

You can cut the screen to get the socket in for the allen head to remove the plug and use a small flex tube funnel to go through to put the oil back in.

I leave screen in the hole and let you decide. but yes the right side is for access to the plug!

do you make them for the dragons also?

The dragon we filled the tube of the foot well with a piece of abs plastic, then put the caps back on.
if your talking about above the foot well. I think they call them stirrup vents, yes I can. Or any special design can be done.
thanks mike

Seems like there is no decision. There should be a good size opening to allow access to the chain case hole. Not knocking, just suggesting to help improve.

X2 - why would anyone want the hole closed off?

Have FUN!

Honestly, I think the simplest answer is: its easier/quicker to not cut the screen out on each and every plate.

Unless you could get something like a hole punch setup to quickly/easily punch out the screen over that hole.
Which may be easier to do on the manufactures end than the end-users end.

Not knocking the product; great idea and I'll probably get one... but for $50 I think the maker needs to gut the hole! :face-icon-small-hap

It take two seconds to cut out the screen with a knife,
I left it on Because I have 4" long allen sockets.most people don't change the chain oil but once a year.
I suggest one small slit to allow your allen to go through screen.
and the plastic hole is just bigger than the alumn.
just my 2 cents.
