Clicker position for Grand Mesa

I have a 09 summit x 800 with 146 inch track that is all stock. I was wondering what number to have my quick clickers set at. I will be riding from Thunder Mountain Lodge. Any info is appreciated thanks.

That's hard to say. It's really easy to change so just give it a few pulls and adjust until you are hitting 8100 or 8200 on a fully loaded run.

ok thats what i was thinking. I have them set on 3 now because i ride in michigan.

Hmmm. You may very well have to go all of the way up. That huge of a difference warrants a clutchin change, IMO. Just to be able to enjoy your ride.

Yep, all the way and then some. You are probably clutched for low elevation. Gonna need a diff spring, helix and less pin weight if you plan to be riding out here for any extended periods.

Make sure you align the clutches or you will lose belts every 20 miles or so. :cheer2:

I have the low altitude clutching out and the stock spring, ramps and hollow pins in now. I've never changed the helix so it is the one that came in the sled when it was new. The sled has about 1500 miles on it now and still has the original belt on it. I hope the clutches are aligned so i'm not going through belts.

Call Dynamo Joe and see what he can do to give you a setup that may work decent at both places.

You might want to check out a Racewerx or Alternative Impact clutch tower brace for that sled as deep powder mtn riding really stresses the belt.

Jason,
I am no mechanic but have a 2010 Summit X 800R 146 stock. 2 buddies I went with have the same sleds. Rode in the U P (had the low altitude kit put on) until we went to Thunder Mountain Lodge. Took it to a Ski-Doo dealer out there and he set us up and explained what we needed. Clickers are at 4, but can be adjusted to RPM's on your sled. Your stock spring should be okay per the dealer. We did need lighter than stock pins though. Stock ramps. Simply changed the above and had no problem with them running or belt troubles.

Hope this helps!

Yep. I know I little bit about that. Aligned and no more belt eating. In fact very little belt dust anymore as well. BTW the crankshop alignment tool, AWESOME!!! Easy as pie. Best 35.00 I have spent. Not trying to hijack your thread here.
