Cleaning motor / inside bulkhead

Cleaning the sled for the summer. What can you use to get all the d@mn oil, belt/clutch dust off. Something thats safe for all the plastic. Just use degreaser 10:1? I would like something to spray on and pressure wash off. Any ideas?

Simple green, let it soak, blast it off with warm/hot H2O.

I use wd 40 in the spray bottle ,you get it in a 1 gallon jug. It's a solvent and cuts it all. right know no waiting.

I pull the motor and use the engine degrease and let it sit for 5 minutes and lay the led on the side in the car wash and hit it with warm h2o, and the motor too.

I've always put a little kerosene in a spray bottle. Spray it on and wipe the crud off. It cuts through that stuff really well.

I don't know of many other people who do that, but my Dad always did when I was a kid so i've done it forever.

Our aircraft mechanics use plain isopropyl alcohol to clean the aircraft engine decks or hydraulic spills. Works great, breaks up the oil and grease and evaporates after you wipe up the mess. Just put in spray bottle and your set.

Been using engine degreaser for the WHOLE engine compartment for the past 15 years with no ill effects. Works great, spray, wait 10 minutes, and as good as new.

I use S-100 motorcycle cleaner...it works good and is plastic friendly.

I doo the same thing and use a hotsy..clean as new

Westleys Bleach Rite works awesome for cutting the grime.
Its made for cleaning tires, but it sure cuts the grease and doesnt stink like Simple Green

X2 on the oil eaters. That stuff works amazing. I haveenev done it with out a pressure washer with that stuff.

Keep Oil Eater away from any bearing or bushings ... that stuff is caustic and will wipe bearings/bushings out. No way you can rinse it all out so it sits and corrodes. Had to replace every bearing in my KTM since the previous owner used it to clean the bike all the time. Just an FYI. I use it on my sled but dilute it by half.

I think so, spray with simple green and let soak but not dry, then I just use a pressure washer, always remove clutches

gas works on a rag wipe, cleans good or use a toothbrush to get hard to reach areas with gas

I thought you were supposed to leave the gunk to hold stuff together. Isn't that what 383 preaches?

x2 on the S100 cycle cleaner. Use lots of water to rinse it off and it will be squeaky clean and have a nice shine. It wont mess up custom paint, plastic, alum or rubber. Good all around cleaner.

x 3 on simple green. cleans pretty much everything. and engine degreaser by gunk brand works even better on engine itself, i use it often on my 2 smoke dirtbike
