Christmas Must Haves for Axys Riders who have everything??

Not really specifically for an Axys... but something I am too much of a cheap azz to buy myself but would really love to try is a pair of heated goggles.

If he wrenches much and doesn’t have a service manual they are GREAT... I prefer paper copy, most seem to like digital.

Durapro ski rubbers if he doesn’t have... magnetic tethers are also great.

"pow day" passes ... which entitle said husband to a no questions asked excuse out of any previous obligation on a pow day, even your sisters wedding rehearsal or baby shower...

He may also get snopox, the only cure found is high elevation. Sometimes it takes nearly a week to heal. Write him a prescription.
A kitchen pass works well also. Leave one hang on the fridge for emergency use.

Great ideas! Keep them coming, I think I will be grabbing a couple things from this.

What seat concepts seat? I've been looking at the micro but it seems really small.
Depends on how much he uses the seat :)

If he uses the seat a quite a bit I would probably just cross a new seat off the list... if he rides aggressively in the trees and such, hopping around, a small seat(the micro) would probably be nice.

Do you have any experience to share using the Abom?

I’ve used the Abom heet and the Oakley prizm heated goggles for the past three seasons. The oakleys fit my face better and worked much better. They aren’t as nice with the battery pack in the side and have a slightly smaller field of view. They work more that twice as good at removing condensation though.
The aboms would never seal to my face which could be my face or helmet, but I’ve never had that bad of an issue with any other goggle. Both on a Klim and fly helmet. I like the tint choices for abom.
Basically I ended up ditching the aboms and ran the Oakley heated.

With or without glasses?
(I can’t find many reviews without reliability issues)

Not with Glasses.

I have a pair and so does my main riding buddy. I really like them.

For me they are not needed on perfect riding weather days. Because I don't have fogging issues then.

The days they are needed are when its snowing, or overcast/really cold and normal goggles will fog or ice up. The Aboms can be set in auto mode, which minimizes any fogging or icing. They will still do it in AUTO for me, however, they have a HIGH boost mode that you press the button and it clears the lens. Every time. I can usually get a 6-8 hour riding day out of them. I do not hesitate to click the HIGH Boost button to keep lenses clear if needed. At times on the trail ride back my battery is dead. In my eyes they are totally worth it and open up your vision on those really nasty riding days when visibility is really poor.

If you do order make sure you read closely, ABOM HEETS are smaller and newer version. More suited for snowmobile helmets.

Cons: Abom could do a better job on using thicker FOAM around the goggle. I could see some people having problems getting them to seal. Like the post above.

With that said, they are always on my sled as my main pair or my backup pair. Hope this helps.

If he wears glasses get prescription goggles!! A must have for anyone with glasses that can't or won't do contacts.

If you do the Skinz heated brake lever you need to also get him a toggle switch - my wife has the heated lever which she loves but man oh man does it get hot quick and there are times you just don't want that thing turned on!

A gift certificate at the local powder coating shop

A gift certificate for the lodge of your choice - a win for both of you!

A flask and a bottle of Fireball

book him lessons with Matt Entz, Chris Burandt, Dan Adams, Cole Wilford - everyone, even the best riders, can always learn something from riding with an instructor ! Besides, it's a kick! Even better book lessons for both of you! My wife and I rode with Cole Wilford at 252 Riding Clinics last year and we are going again
