Chris Burandt who???

Thanks for sharing.

I will just chime in and say I enjoy almost every video that shows up here. I wish I could do the same things you can guys do!:face-icon-small-dis

Pick which ever poster boy you want but I'll always side with the old guys lol. They are original.

They're the ones that introduced the mountain sleddin world to new places and techniques, forced a chassis evolution finally and basically started and finished a new style of maximizing the use of your body weight and the throttle to control the sled weight against gravity.

Many are not old enough to remember a scrawny Rasmussen running up Jackson with wrong foot forward and the other flailin' in the wind lol (so it seemed). It was weird then but look at Curtis and the rest of us today.
Then for fun he put trees in the way and someone recorded it to start the awe because they were in awe.

Burandt came from snowcross, hill climb and tricks to mentor under Rasmussen and added style and a smile lol chasing his Yoda. For old guys they still rock and deserve 30 or 40'000 dollar sleds handed to them by sponsors trying to cash in on their style and it's appeal. They did more to bring us the sleds on the floor today than any other thing.

Burandt is the Yoda today. Maybe your sick of the "dominance", the word "flickable", or even "seeing a line", but in my eyes the Luke Skywalker in the above vid still needs another 300 or 400 days to make this style look as effortless as the originals do. I'm sure if he has the same level of desire and work ethic he will could get there.
Maybe if he is special he will develop a new move or two. Maybe some day people will phone him and offer anything he may want just for the opportunity to put a sticker on his sled. Maybe that might even be his goal but IMO that opportunity will only come when someone films something unique again or Burandt hangs up the boots for good.
Chicken before the egg thing.

As in anything, time moves on and new blood has to show up. Great. There are many skilled sledders that are working hard with the GoPro on to copy and record the perfect moment. Kudos to the many that never get posted.
But,,, you have to remember the originals started with the old boats we use to get (even compared to the M-sled under this up and comer). They spent many, many nights getting dirty and changing-trying things to help them do more and more.
We get what we get today and ride like we ride today because of their love of the game, desire for pushing the limits and work ethic.

If Rasmussen and Burandt had never showed up would we still be bolting on plastic paddles and rail extensions to overweight trail sleds and taking the short route to the alpine and taking pokes all day? It was fun but I think where we go today is more funner lol, eh!

Who knows, but respect your elders lol.

Well said sir!

Ryan is just a normal kid. He works hard during the week and doesn't have the luxury of sledding 100+days a year. Dizz wasn't trying to put CB down, he just wanted to show Ryans ability. Not bashing any one or trying to stir the pot.

Dizz, I guess you better be careful from now on how you name your threads. It seems to be offensive to some. No sense of humor anymore. :face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-win:face-icon-small-win

You can say what you want but Burandt and the boys are absolutely some of the best technical riders in the business. Take a look at some of the Schooled videos, they shoot lines that other highly skilled riders would not even consider. I've been riding 15 yrs, I've tried some of the things they do and man it's tough to say the least.
