Chinook Pass & Cayuse Pass Closed!!!!!!

Just saw on the news, DOT has reported over 3 ft of snow has fallen on Chinook pass in the last few days, due to the weather, Chinook and Cayuse passes have been temporarily closed.... Time will tell if they reopen or remain closed for the season.


CHINOOK PASS SR410
Elevation: 5430 ft / 1655 m

Chinook Pass is temporarily closed due to recent heavy snowfall and increasing avalanche danger. Closure is from milepost 57 on the west side of the summit and milepost 74 near the Morse Creek gate on the east side of the summit. Due to the weather related nature of this closure an estimated end time is not known. Updates provided as information is available.

ahh temporary closure. which could probably lead if this keep up to the annual eason closure..
bummer for my buddies who like to go up there before they close to get some turns.. but good news for snow goers all around!

Its done..... you cannot tell me that there is no money in the budget to plow the road over Cayuse and Chinook. I hope thats not the case as i need to get over the pass to my happy elk hunting grounds up the Little Naches for this weekends opening. Suppose i could ride the sled over Pyramid Pass to Blowout Mtn.

its probably a little bare in the horse trail through the trees up the hill though.:D
