Chevy Power

Looking at purchasing a 1987 Silverado K10. 4" rancho suspension lift. 3" body lift. 36" SuperSwampers TSL's. No rust. Show room truck. What is everybody doing to get more power out of these trucks? Its EFI with 4,000 miles on it since the overhaul. Its been bored .030" over. Thanks for the info ahead of time.

Had a 90 chevy with cam, throttle body spacer, intake, headers, exhaust thing ran so good. Might even try different gears with those bigger tires. Won't get you more HP but will help that motor pull those tires. Not cheap but worth the money. Also had a 96 dodge with a 5.2L with 39.5" tires nothing done to the motor but geared down to 4.56 thing would burn the tires and run 80 down the interstate.

Sorry for the confusion. Im not looking for this truck on SW. Rather, I've found one for sale in my area and am just looking ahead at future mods that could help this engine.
There's a forum called "Trucks and Trailers" for this.

there is so many things that you could do. this would become the next max post if we were to go over everything.

Cam, pistons, heads, valves, valve springs, valve seats, bored cylinders, push rods, rollers, headers, cat, muffler, ignition system, plugs, plug wires, intake, super charger, turbo charger, nitrous oxide, port and polish intake and exhaust, electric fan, under drive pulleys, advanced timing, larger injectors, synthetic oil, ect.

You can gear it to the larger tires to get some "feel" of power. no power gain but will correct the gutless problem pretty good.

Street blower kit..last one I did cost about 1700.00 delievered and added 100 hp on premium pump fuel...(305 CI smallblock)looked nice, ran nice and very inexpensive for the power gain..............same deal..nice truck with bigger tires, was gutless before blower...

wtb

i have been tryin to find a clean straight rust free 87 1/2 or 3/4 4x for 10 years now, no luck any where close to here, found some ranched out ones but no decent ones

1. i would be gears for me, if it's not already, no need to stress the motor out for no reason.

2. said before blower or super charge it, I supercharged my 93 and love it.

3. ummm how much coin you got to spend? lol
