Chevy guys, I need an axle tube for an '07 1500....

So, here's the story. A guy i work with has an '07 1500 crew cab. He just had it inspected at a GM dealer, and they rechecked all his bolt torque and whatnot on his lift apparently. Anyways, his front diff bolts just sheared off, and his diff basically fell out....

SOOOO, after telling him it's not warranty, they also tell him that there are no parts in NORTH AMERICA.

Anyone know of a place to buy a right side front axle tube? Can a reputable machine shop build one, or can a diff shop possible custom build one? Anyone know of any wreckers?

Thanks, guys.

American Axle is on strike. We are on hold for parts and new trucks. Don't hold your breath.

That's what i've been hearing.... I guess i'd better not break any axle parts on the dodge, either, eh?

No, he is VERY, VERY careful with his rig. Like, INSANELY so. It's just the nature of the roads these boys travel on that makes any truck's life just a bit toougher than the average mall crawler....

My thinking is when he got it inspected by that GM dealer, they rattled the bolts in with a big impact, and stretched them, thereby weakening them. The lift was installed by a very reputable shop.

By reputable, do you mean the guy that installs, does welding without a mechanic, or welding ticket? I know the guy that installs the lifts at the GM dealer, he's been pulling wrenches longer than the forementioned has been breathing! Better have your facts straight before you start pointing fingers.
