chevy diesel chip

i just bought a 94' chevrolet 6.5l turbo diesel and was wonderin if its possible to put a chip in this truck. i heard a rumor that this was originally a gas engine that was converted to a diesel, is that true?

any help would be great

Your thinking of the 6.2 L diesel, back in the day gm took the 350 block and made a diesel out of it calling it the 6.2 L. The 6.5 is a good motor. Not sure what you mean here "put a truck in this truck", but i think you meant chip. I believe someone makes a programmer for the 6.5 but i dont remember who. Good Luck....talk to CHRISTCDIESEL on here he's a big diesel guy and he can tell you the right set-up too.

the 5.7 diesel was basically a 350 gasser converted. the 6.2 was a little different.for yours though, add a stanydyne #9 resistor in the pmd. bigger injectors will help out alot.relocate the pmd if you haven't already.when it goes youll probably be stranded on the side of the road.

Try SSdiesel or Heath diesel.. They both make a tone of stuff for the 6.5!! great prices and easy to deal with!!

My bro's really into diesels and stuff, if you want the diesel to run as good as a newer stock one he said the 6.5 needed newer injectors, better turbo, lower compression pistons, an intercooler, and an injection pump. He said there is more on thedieselpage.com somewhere...
