Chevron Techron

I always run a bottle of Chevron Techron through my car every time I change my oil just to clean things up a bit inside my engine. I always have heard good things about the product but cannot say myself whether or not it does anything for my engine (just hope that it does). I was thinking it might also be a good idea to run a bottle through my sled engine at least once a season to clean out my injectors etc. Anyone else do this? Good/Bad idea?

i dont know anything about that brand..but i have seen people run seafoam (get from walmrt) or Zmax through there fuel tanks...never has an issue and suppose to clean well

We sell both at our napa and they are both good products. Myself, I use the Techron in my Ford ranger because it is the only cleaner that it responds to. Starts running a little rough and I add a bottle. Once every three months or so and it has 246,000 miles on original injectors and fuel system including pump.

I used to use chevron stuff and never had any problems with it. But a couple of years ago my boat with a 3.0 merc started dieseling and running rough. I tried a bunch of things and someone told me about startron. a couple of tanks later and it has never dieseled again, now i use it with every tank.

Techron is good stuff...it is reccomended by BMW and Mercedes. You can also get a product from many boat shops called RingFree...I think it is from Yamaha but seldom seen at MC shops. It is concentrated Techron from Chevron with a Yamaha label on it. . If you run the clean up recepie make sure you have extra plugs with you in case you foul as the carbon build up gets burned.
