check engine light?

I rode for a few hours and then the check engine lite came on
It flashes five times . Dose that Mean anything? or do i need to take it to the dealer

5 flashes is exhaust sensor fault code. check the wires going to the sensor in the pipe and make sure they are conected and didn't break. if all is ok you probably need a new sensor.

Check Engine Light / Does it go off ?

Mine is doing the same thing (I think). I didn't know you could read codes by counting the light flashes, I am new to the 900 world.

When I let mine idle it will go off then when I start down the trail after about
1/2 a mile of steady throttle it will come back on flashing. I didn't realize you could count the flashes.

As soon as I stop it will go out , repeat same.

When I boondock, on and off the throttle ir doesn't come on.

Think this is the exaust sensor ? Guess I need to count the flashes
