Check engine light blinks- what's the code mean?

2005 switchback 900. Just rebuilt top end and first run the check engine light would blink 5 times. Only after being above 3000 rpm's for 2 min.
I noticed my tail light is not on. Also think maybe cuz I have oil in the gas for the break I ?

That is the exhaust temp sensor code. Double check the connections and if they are on good then sensor is faulty and will need a new one. Oil in gas shouldn't affect it unless it is a lot of mix. Some use a bit of mix in gas for insurance with no problems. In the stickies above there is a thread about what each code means and if not there a simple search should find it. Hoping it is just a loose connection for you.

Also double check and make sure there are no wires that are worn through grounding out. The wiring in these machines were brittle so be so to follow the wiring to make sure it didn't break somewhere.....

Make sure the connectors are connected. The exhaust temp sensor connections are bullet connectors and are enclosed in a type of rubber. Because they are enclosed it is sometimes hard to tell whether or not they are connected.
