Check eng light on

I have a 2006 700 rmk and the check engine light came on it does a series of 5 flashes than a 2 second pause than 5 more flashes. Does anyone have sny experience with the error codes that could give me s hand with this or possibly how to repair it?

The same thing is happening on my 05 Fusion 900. 5 flashes of the check engine light is a code for the exhaust temp sensor. Here is a quote from Jerseyrider that helped me out in another thread, "You can check the resistance on your exhaust temperature sensor. The spec says 2.3Mohms @ 392F and 76 Ohms at 1652F. The manual says difficult to measure lower than 392F. I just went out and put the meter on mine. One came in at 7M Ohms and the other at 5M Ohms. They are sitting in an unheated MN garage...about 40 F right now. The key is it should be higher than 2.3M ohms and start to go down if you pass warm air over the sensor. A reading of zero or infinity is bad." I need to order a new sensor for mine. The cheapest place to order one is at Partspitstop.com for $113. Hope this helps

06 Trouble Codes

When you pull the probe, look on the thermo couple stinger and see if you see a wear mark or where it may have been making contact inside the housing. If it has then the vibration may well have fractured the inner ceramic type material. One possible fix is to take your index drill bit set and find the exact size of the OEM hole in the pipe (I can't remember) that the probe sits in and drill it out 1 index size over to relieve it and stop the contact with the probe.

Be easy on the install of your new probe, use anti-sieze and don't over torque as the twist from your wrench can also damage the inner ceramic. Good luck. EW

Now understanding a little bit beter of what is wrong with my sled. How important is it that i get it fixed. Just curious of all the reactions that could come from not fixing it . Just wanting some knowledge!.

When we got that code on our 09 dragon it had an occasional stumble on throttle that you coud ride out of, but it seemed to get worse. I had a spare on my sled and changed it right away so I can't say how it would perform long term. Cant be good. EW
