Make sure to check to see if your driveshaft is fitted together good before installing clamp, if its not together good it will still fail.

just trying to help

AGREE!!

Check out your drive shaft carefully... if you can see any rocking in the cap on the shaft... or signs of cracking or "bulging" of the shaft... dont clamp it or run it...Get a new one under warranty.

Also, Check to see if there is any run-out of the lower pulley... all these things that Polaris wants the dealers to check when they are installing the collar on it.

Good "heads up " dragonman.

Is the lower drive sprocket running dead true, or is one side coming out toward you and other side away from you? Just put a dial indicator against the outer face and see how much the needle moves. Basically like checking to see if a disk brake rotor is warped. How much should max. runout be? .005 to .015? This will tell you how true the driveshaft insert is to the alum. tube. If it is orbiting I bet the bearing is not liking it one bit! Also the belt will go rather tight/loose as it revolves and tear at the fibers and build excess heat. Also higher loads transferring back and forth across the belt face = NG!

Hope this helps Mike
