cheap belts

so i heard a from an old guy that there are only two belt manufacutres. and that if you take your part number to napa they can cross refrence the numbers and get you the same belt for a fraction of the cost. any truth to this?

yes napa can cross ref most drivebelt #'s, they have always been higher priced and i have a 25% discount on my napa account, so i never tried one of those belts!

The factory belts on OEM from the Mountain sleds are actually made by MITSUBOSHI (not Mitsubishi) in Illinois.... www.mitsuboshi.com

I've talked with the engineers at the different companies... Dayco, Gates, Goodyear, Carlisle etc... The Mitsuboshi made 3211115 and 3211122 belts are pretty much in a league of their own...The people at Carlisle told me directly that they did not offer any belts yet that would compare to the durability of the stock 3211115 MBL belts.

I have a case of the Goodyear belts in the garage and send two to RKT as well... the test info is coming back good on these.....

We'll know more as the season wears on!!

After all the hype of the 1115, I wouldn't run anything else personally.

Just did a quick google search on that second belt and saw something I hadn't seen before. May need 1 to 2 gram heavier drive weights than other belts. I am thinking I might need to get some heavier weights.
