Anyone know of a regulator/charger that will trim off the battery charge as battery tops off while transporting in trailer, Seems best way for cold starts?. trailers are wired for inside light for power source?

Some trucks now have 110 ac outlets in the pu beds. A battery tender would keep the batt. regulated and toped off.

Your trailer plug center pin has a fused 12v line direct to battery. Hook to it using terminals similar to tender. Will charge off trucks alternator.

This is what I'd do. But mines just a kick start......
Maybe not for a whole X country trip out west, but for a couple hours up to the Mountian would be fine. Don't get that many amps out of the factory 12v pin.

Heat in your trailer would. Be best. With a good battery and a jump pack for emergencies I don't see the need.

The battery will cook, Has to have its own regulator and not the vehicle regulator which constantly has draw and voltage output.

Pan Heater + Trickle Charger

I'm in the process of building a sledbed that contains a power converter so I can plug standard 120v plugs into the bed. I installed a nice swing open waterproof box underneath the sledbed that will go up to a recessed waterproof plug in on the deck of the sledbed. I have already installed a pan heater on my KTM 500 with a detachable plug that tucks away. I am also going to add connection leads for a trickle charger. Once the bike is loaded up I will plug in my single plug that doubles into both the pan heater and leads to the battery. Once I am about an hour away from my zone I will flip a a switch in the cab that will then click a relay on and turn the 120v plug hot.

This sealed cabinet will also house all my relays for loading lights and a large light bar for the road.

I'm also going to couple this build out with this alternator.

Sorry, my bad. Guess my 14 years successfully doing it has been a royal screw up.
This is also how most trailer furnace batteries are charged.

It doesn't cook my trailer brake battery................it doesn't cook my toy hauler batteries...............
