Changing track on pro

I am putting a power claw track and new drivers on my pro, I have heard of peeps talk about changing the track without going into the chain case, I am wondering how this is done? If I don't have to crack open the chan case it would be good.

Impossible to change the track without opening the chain case, believe you heard that some people have to remove the chaincase from the chassis..

Not to fear the chaincase is very very easy to take apart..remove cover, loosen bottom sproket bolt, back off tensioner, remove bottom sprocket bolt, slide bottom gear and chain off splined shaft...done

With the chaincase loosen or off it will make getting the track off/on much easier anyway.

The chaincases are glued to the tunnel on the 2012's so it isn't really an option to remove it. Unless you get some of that fancy adhesive and heat the hell out of your old chain case like I did. Im thinking you should be able to slip the driveshaft out the clutch side enough to tip it down and out the bottom.

you can change your track without removing your chaincase. you cannot remove your track without removing the chaincase cover and gears/chain. Was that the question? Its a pretty tight fit to stuff a 2.4" back in there, so have a buddy help... makes life easier.

about how long does it take to swap a track? i've only done it on a really really old arctic cat, when i "long-tracked" it from a 121 to a 136 haha

3 hours out and in. you need 2 people to get the drivers to slide past the lugs when you reinstall drive so you can slip it back in place

I swapped my track by myself in 3 hrs. It's very easy just be careful not to damage the seal on the inside of the chaincase when your re instaling the drive shaft. You will need something to put under the track to hold it up if your doing it alone.

Its really not too bad. In my opinnion, the hardest part was getting the rear skid out from under the track, I had to have a little help there, other than that, I did it alone, and that was the first track I've swapped. Just pop open the chain case and you're good to go!

The last time I changed drivers I had to remove the drive shaft from the sled and have the drivers pressed off and on. And believe me the only way to get the drive shaft out without cutting it out is to open the chaincase. I think the powerclaw would be a great upgrade to the pro unless u only ride really deep dry snow (which ill see only two or three times a year) when my buddy's pro is havin a hard time keepin up with me I really think if he had a powerclaw I might have a hard time keepin up with him.
