changing to a 3" luged track

Hey guys, did a search and got a few different answers.

Looking to put a 3" lugged track on my 05 rev.
What am i looking for?
7 toothed 2.86 drivers?
what brand camoplast track should i look for?
And what gearing should i be running?

I have a 159 installed, iceage rails and a 9" bigwheel kit. I have about 1 inch of adjustment on the rear axle. I see on the tracks use the only 3" luged track avaliable is in a 162. Is this mod possible?

Hope to hear good reports on this mod.

Hello I beleive you can run a 2.5 lug 3.0pitch track by just purchasing 7th 3.0pitch Avid or Wahl Bros drivers and have clearance with that track without D&R or Extended Chaincase. I ran Wahl bros drivers on my older sled and they vibrated pretty bad and will go with the Avids this time.

Also beleive you have to change the upper wheels on the skid that mount where the drop bracket is to 5.5 or 5.6inch wheels for tunnel clearance,

I want to go to the Challenger Extreme, 163x16x2.5 #9103 , I have on my Sled now is a 159x15x2 1/8 2.52pitch and want to install the above drivers and move the skid back a bit to improve approach angle and not change rear axle wheel size, since the smaller driver will make it a bit steeper but not that much the 7th drivers are actually just a little bit smaller than the skidoo 9tooth drivers, My sled has stock 10 tooth so it will automaticly lower the gearing, for me my gearing would I think be really low but still good for the extended length and width and added traction that would I`m sure take some power to turn, since I am already geared pretty low a 19/47

but you could change the rear wheel size and offset axle and not have to relocate the rear skid, I`m just not sure what size rear wheels or offset axle would be needed to take up the slack from 10tooth 2.52 driver to 7tooth 3.0 pitch drivers and and upper idler wheel size change and still have adjustment for the rear axle, I know other will have better info to complete this setup knowledge.

sounds confusing I`m sure but I bet its worth it.

Good Luck, Wildcard

Is it even worth doing? right now i could run a camoplast challenger2 with a 2.31 lug 159"

If i wanted the 2.5 id have to change drivers and they dont make a 159 so id have to some how take up the slack from a 162. the extra .2" of a lug doesnt seem worth it.

Also whats the difference in design in a challenger2 and a challenger extreme

you just need the offset axle which allows you to run a 162 track on the 159 rails, It sets back the axle and also allows you to run 2 inside 8 inch wheels . I also have a used one of those as well

Im running a straight axle with 9 inch wheels, So i could just change the axle

Is their a big difference going with the challenger extreme appose to the challenger 2?
